Besides the boring stuff (my name is Matteo, I’m 33 and I was born and raised in Bergamo) I want to tell you what I like and how I created Walking Cap!
In fact, there are several things I love to do:
Anyway, I discovered the existence of Free Walking Tour in 2015 on a trip to Portugal and since then every visit abroad for me is an opportunity to take one!
A few years ago some Australian friends, whom I met just through a free walking tour, came to visit me in Bergamo and it was the first time I acted as a “storyteller” for friends!
So, also thinking about my passions, I started studying, got my tour leader license and my tourist guide license, and now here I am!
I started by organizing free tours in my city, Bergamo, and found that I was having so much fun!

It was my “second job” and I couldn’t accommodate all the tourists so I wrote my own digital city guide to provide support to all those who couldn’t sign up for my free tour!
Hence I decided to expand Walking Cap! Studying as a guide and tour leader, I met so many people in many cities in Italy.
Together with them, I have created (and continue to create) new guides that allow independent sightseeing thanks to my digital platform!
