It depends on the city but in general..It’s up to you!  During the experience you can freely start/stop/skip things : the activity is in your hands!

However, if you want to walk all along the island it will takes 2/3 hours!

FAQ "Festa dei Fiori" or "Festa di Santa Croce" Monte Isola

The next edition of the famous Flower Festival (“Festa dei Fiori”) will be held from September 8th to 14th, 2025, reaching its peak on the 14th with the traditional procession in honour of the Holy Cross, linked to the popular vow made in the 19th century to end cholera.

Access methods

  • SALE MARASINO – Carzano Line: enhanced service;
  • ISEO – Carzano Line: operating from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM;
  • UPPER LAKE–Carzano Line: active from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with 4 trips covering the towns of Castro, Costa Volpino, Lovere, Marone, Pisogne, and Riva di Solto;
  • LOWER LAKE – Carzano Line: active from 10:30 AM to 9:30 PM, with 4 trips covering the towns of Clusane, Predore, Sarnico, and Tavernola.

You can easily book your ferry from any departure point around Lake Iseo (except Sulzano and Sale Marasino).

➡️ Important: ferry tickets must be purchased online in advance for both the outward and return journeys. This applies to individual visitors and groups. Buying online ensures faster boarding and smooth access to the island.

For reasons of public safety, anyone departing from the ports of Sulzano or Sale Marasino must also request a free Access Pass.

  • The Access Pass is mandatory, but it is not a ferry ticket (you can’t book the ticket in advance).

  • It can be reserved online in just a few clicks.

  • You only need to show the confirmation email on your smartphone (no printout required).

♿ Accessibility

For visitors with reduced mobility, it is recommended not to depart from the ports of Sulzano or Sale Marasino, as these harbours present some logistical challenges.

A better option is to use one of the other departure points, where a free online reservation is still required, even for holders of a European Disability Card.

If you are travelling with a wheelchair, please make sure to inform the Navigazione Lago d’Iseo office in advance.

If you’re travelling on the Trenord Brescia–Iseo–Edolo railway line, you can get off at Sale Marasino.

From Sulzano station, you can board the ferry to Peschiera Maraglio, but please note that it takes about 35 minutes on foot to reach Carzano from there.

  • “Io Viaggio” passes are valid and include the landing fee, which must still be reserved online.

  • Holders of the Trenord “Gite in Treno – Monte Isola” ticket must disembark only at Sale Marasino station and book the mandatory Access Pass for the event.

⚠️ Notice: from 00:00 on Monday 8 September to 03:00 on Monday 15 September, all bicycles and electric scooters are banned from disembarking and circulating on the island, except those belonging to residents or used by people with certified reduced mobility.

  • P3 – Via Provinciale, 34, 25057, Sale Marasino (former camping Saletto) – every day from 7:30 am to midnight
  • P4 – Via Dante Alighieri, 13/B, 25058, Sulzano (“Parcheggio per Monte Isola” with barrier and field in Via S. Giulia)
  • P5 – Via Molini, 25058, Sulzano (church youth club “oratorio”);
  • P6 – Via Industriale, 2, 25058, Sulzano (former N&K) – ONLY on Friday 12th, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th

It’s up to you! Carzano and Novale (the area of the festival) are small villages to walk through, but there are plenty of flowers to see, and considering the number of tourists, getting around will not be so easy!

Personally at the last edition (2015) I stayed there for about 1h45 minutes!
