Gondola ride in Venice for 2€ - How to get this super deal!

When I think of Venice, the first three things that come to mind are:

St. Mark’s Square
The “Grand Canal”
The “Gondola“!
Moving around by this means of transportation is certainly evocative but… very expensive 🤑! However, there is a solution (that LOT of people don’t know) that will allow you to try (briefly) this experience by spending only 2€ each!

How to do that?

There are 5 active Gondola Stations along the Grand Canal:

Pescheria <-> Santa Sofia: 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday / 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. Here you are near the very famous Ca’ D’Oro Palace in Cannaregio and if you are an early bird you can also visit the Fish Market (really beautiful in my opinion!) –> click here to get there.
Riva del Vin <-> Riva del Carbon: Mon-Fri 9am-12pm. You will cross near the Rialto Bridge –> click here to get there.
San Tomà <-> Ca’ Garzoni: 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Mon-Fri 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Holidays –> click here to get there.
Salute <-> Santa Maria del Giglio: daily 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Here you can visit the Peggy Guggenheim Museum –> click here to get there.
Punta della Dogana <-> S. Marco Vallaresso: daily 9am-2pm. Here you are a stone’s throw from the beautiful St. Mark’s Square –> click here to get there.

The schedules (especially in the afternoon/evening) sometimes vary at the discretion of the gondoliers (sometimes the service ends earlier). Below I leave a map for you to see the various stations.

These gondolas are slightly larger than the standard ones. Venetians often stand during the ride but I recommend you sit down so you don’t risk “tasting” the Canal 😅 And now you are ready to try the experience (and maybe take some photos to send to your friends to make them envy you 😬)
