1) Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia
Welcome to Europe’s largest square facing the open sea! With over 12,000 square meters of elegant architecture and stunning views, this piazza alone would justify a trip to Trieste. But don’t worry—many more surprises are waiting for us!
2) Arco di Riccardo
This ancient Roman gate probably dates back to the 1st century AD and was built into the defensive walls of Roman Tergeste. Standing here feels like touching 2,000 years of history—pretty cool for a stone arch, right?
3) Cathedral of San Giusto Martyr (Cattedrale di San Giusto Martire)
Perched on top of the San Giusto hill, this cathedral stands on what was once the acropolis of Roman Tergeste. The current church—with its five naves—was created in the 14th century by merging two older religious buildings. A beautiful blend of history and spirituality.
4) San Giusto Castle (Castello di San Giusto)
One of Trieste’s most iconic landmarks! The castle overlooks the city, the gulf, and even the surrounding hills. The entrance ticket (€6, not included) is absolutely worth it if you want to enjoy one of the best views in Trieste.
5) Roman Theatre of Trieste (Teatro Romano)
Located at the foot of San Giusto hill, this Roman theatre sits right in the historic core of the city. Built in the 1st–2nd century AD, it’s surprisingly well preserved and perfectly showcases Trieste’s ancient past.
6) Piazza della Borsa
In the 19th century, this square was the economic heart of Trieste. Today it’s elegant, lively, and full of interesting architectural details. And yes—I’ll share a few fun facts that even locals sometimes don’t know!
7) Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Spyridon (Chiesa Serbo Ortodossa di San Spiridione)
This striking church immediately catches your eye! Built in the shape of a Greek cross with a tall central dome and four bell towers, it reflects the rich Byzantine tradition of the local Serbian community. One of the most beautiful churches in the city.
8) Church of Sant’Antonio Nuovo
Often simply called “Sant’Antonio,” this neoclassical church was built between 1828 and 1849 and was inspired by the grandeur of ancient Roman monuments. Its calm interior and imposing façade make it a peaceful stop in the center of Trieste.
9) Grand Canal (Canale Grande)
With its calm waters reflecting colorful palaces, the Grand Canal is one of Trieste’s most iconic sights. It’s 370 meters long, 28 meters wide, and absolutely perfect for a relaxing walk—especially at sunset!
10) Molo Audace
A 200-meter walkway stretching into the Adriatic Sea. It’s the perfect place for a scenic stroll, fresh air, sunrises, sunsets, and… if you’re brave enough, facing the famous bora wind! Whether calm or stormy, Molo Audace is always magical.

Before every attraction / monuments included in the tour you will find a button that connects you to google map. You just press that button and you are done! Once you get to your destination you can go back to the digital guide and read/listen everything!
