1) Chiesa di Sant’Antonio Abate – Presepe Permanente
The former Church of Sant’Antonio Abate was built in 1330 and is no longer used for religious functions. After being heavily damaged during the WWII bombings of 1943 and later rebuilt, it lost its role as a place of worship. There’s also a really interesting story connected to this church — let’s discover it!
2) Palazzo Duchi di Santo Stefano
One of the best-preserved examples of Norman architecture in Taormina. Built between the mid-13th and early 14th century, this palace was originally part of the medieval walls that once protected the historic center.
3) Piazza Duomo
The main square of Taormina! Here we’ll explore the beautiful fountain, the buildings around it, and some fascinating curiosities tied to this place.
4) Duomo di Taormina
Taormina Cathedral, originally built in the 13th century on the ruins of a small church dedicated to San Nicola di Bari, has undergone several expansions over the centuries — in the 15th, 16th and finally the 18th century. Let’s explore its history!
5) Corso Umberto
Corso Umberto is the city’s main street, stretching between two arches: Porta Messina to the north and Porta Catania to the south. A lively and beautiful walk through the heart of Taormina.
6) Piazza IX Aprile
Located along Corso Umberto, this square is one of Taormina’s most iconic spots. It’s famous worldwide for its breathtaking view: Mount Etna, the bay of Giardini Naxos, and even the hill where the Greek Theatre stands.
7) Chiesa Madonna della Rocca
This small church stands dramatically on a rocky cliff overlooking Taormina, near the Saracen Castle. It takes its name from being carved directly into the living rock — a truly unique place.
8) Odeon
Taormina’s small Roman Odeon is a rare example in Sicily. These structures were designed for musical and theatrical performances in a more intimate setting than large outdoor theatres. Let’s discover its history and curiosities!
9) Villa Comunale di Taormina
Also known as Trevelyan Park, this beautiful garden was created thanks to Lady Florence Trevelyan, an English noblewoman linked to Queen Victoria’s court. A peaceful place with exotic plants, panoramic terraces and charming architectural details.

First mentioned in 1806, when King Ferdinand I donated it to the Municipality of Taormina, Isola Bella was later purchased by Lady Florence Trevelyan in 1890. Famous for its natural beauty and unique shape, it’s one of the symbols of Taormina.
