1) Battistero Neoniano (Battistero degli Ortodossi)
We start with one of the oldest monuments in Ravenna! Its octagonal shape is full of symbolism, representing creation and eternal life. Inside, the stunning mosaics and the Renaissance baptismal font create a magical atmosphere that perfectly introduces you to the city’s Byzantine soul.
2) Basilica di San Francesco & Dante’s Tomb
Originally a 5th-century church, the Basilica di San Francesco has been rebuilt many times — but its charm remains intact. Just outside, we’ll also stop at the Tomb of Dante Alighieri, a peaceful and symbolic spot loved by locals and visitors alike.
3) Basilica di Sant’Apollinare Nuovo
A true jewel of Ravenna’s mosaic heritage! Built by Theodoric at the end of the 5th century, this basilica was once the king’s Palatine Chapel. Inside, a spectacular ribbon of mosaics stretches along the walls, telling stories of faith, power and daily life in the ancient kingdom.
4) Piazza del Popolo
Welcome to the heart of Ravenna! Built by the Venetians in the 15th century, this lively square connects the main streets of the historic center. Between curiosities, legends and architectural details, it’s the perfect place to soak in the city’s atmosphere.
5) Domus dei Tappeti di Pietra
An underground treasure! This extraordinary archaeological site preserves mosaics of incredible detail — including the famous “Dance of the Geniuses of the Seasons,” where elegant figures dance in a circle. A truly unique glimpse into ancient Ravenna.
6) Basilica di San Vitale
One of the most important Byzantine churches in the world! The exterior is simple, but inside you’ll find a masterpiece of mosaics, light and geometry. The octagonal structure and the play of shapes make this basilica one of the city’s absolute highlights.
7) Mausoleo di Galla Placidia
A small monument on the outside… but a starry universe inside! The interior glows with mosaics representing paradise, illuminated by hundreds of tiny golden tiles. A magical, intimate space considered one of the greatest mosaic masterpieces ever created.
8) Mausoleo di Teodorico
Built around 520 AD by Theodoric himself, this impressive structure blends Roman and Gothic architecture. Its massive roof — a single 300-ton stone slab! — is one of the most extraordinary engineering feats of the ancient world.

Before every attraction / monuments included in the tour you will find a button that connects you to google map. You just press that button and you are done! Once you get to your destination you can go back to the digital guide and read/listen everything!
