1) Cava dei Balestrieri
We start our tour at the Cava dei Balestrieri — a historic arena where San Marino’s crossbowmen trained and performed since the 14th century. Today it’s still used for demonstrations and events, making it one of the most iconic spots in the Republic!
2) Basilica of Saint Marinus
The main sacred building of San Marino and home to the relics of the country’s founder. Elegant, serene and full of history, the Basilica is a must-see to understand the spirit and origins of the world’s oldest Republic.
3) Church of San Pietro
Right next to the Basilica, this small 16th-century church hides a fascinating legend: its apse is said to be carved from living rock, and inside you’ll find two niches that tradition claims were the “beds” of San Marino and San Leo. A tiny church with big stories!
4) Piazza della Libertà
The beating heart of San Marino! This picturesque square hosts the Palazzo Pubblico (the Government Building), the Tourism Office and the Philatelic Office. Despite its small size, it’s often home to concerts, celebrations and official ceremonies — a lively and symbolic place.
5) Museum of Vampires & Werewolves (Museo Creature della Notte)
A fun and unusual stop! This quirky museum explores legends, myths and folklore related to vampires, werewolves and other creatures of the night. Perfect for those who love spooky stories or simply want something different.

6) State Museum (Museo di Stato)
Located in Palazzo Pergami Belluzzi, the museum displays over 5,000 artifacts including archaeological finds, artworks, paintings and objects that narrate San Marino’s long and fascinating history. A great dive into the Republic’s cultural identity.

7) Porta San Francesco
Known as the “Porta del Paese,” this is the official entrance to the historic center and the main gate of the third ring of medieval walls. Passing under it feels like stepping right into another era!
8) Guaita Tower (First Tower)
One of the oldest fortresses in Italy! With its pentagonal base and centuries of defensive history, the Guaita Tower is one of San Marino’s most famous symbols. The views from up here are truly spectacular.

9) Cesta Tower (Second Tower)
Perched on the highest peak of Mount Titano at 756 meters, the Cesta Tower — also called Fratta — dates back to the 11th century. It once housed the guard corps and some prison cells. Today it offers breathtaking panoramas over the entire region.

10) Montale Tower (Third Tower) – Pass By
The smallest of the three towers, dating back to the late 13th century. Although not open to the public, Montale played a crucial defensive role thanks to its position as the best lookout point on the mountain.

At the beginning of every digital guide you will find a map that will show you the itinerary! However, you don’t need to use that one! Before every attraction / monuments included in the tour you will find a button that connects you to google map. You just press that button and you are done! Once you get to your destination you can go back to the digital guide and read/listen everything!
